How to ensure maximum deliverability

The TL;DR;
  • Start with a low email volume. IE: don't use your quota on day 1
  • Gradually scale up over time. Email yourself, make sure you get the email. Mark as "safe" if applicable
  • Monitor deliverability and adjust accordingly.

Why is Email Warmup Important?

  1. Avoid Spam Filters: ISPs flag high-volume email activity from new domains as potential spam. Gradual sending helps avoid being marked as spam.
  2. Build Sender Reputation: Over time, ISPs learn that your emails are legitimate and delivered responsibly.
  3. Improve Deliverability: A positive reputation increases the likelihood of emails landing in the inbox rather than the spam folder.
  4. Prevent IP Blacklisting: Sudden large volumes can trigger blacklists. Warmup reduces this risk. We're only as good as our IP reputation, so please act accordingly.

How to Warmup Transactional Emails

  1. Start Slow: Begin with a small volume (e.g., 50-100 emails per day).
  2. Gradually Increase: Double the daily volume every few days if emails are successfully delivered without a high bounce rate or spam complaints.
  3. Monitor Metrics: Track deliverability, open rates, bounces, and complaints closely. Adjust sending rates based on performance.
